A medical abortion (or abortion pills as sometimes is called) is a very safe procedure, and it involves taking two different types of tablets:
The first medication that is taken, called mifepristone, blocks the hormone needed for pregnancy to develop.
A second medication is called misoprostol, which causes the body to romove the pregnancy from the womb.
